Rehydrating with Spirit

I showed up at my friend Rhonda’s house on the 30th of December late in the evening after driving from Spokane to Los Angeles. We planned on spending the new year week together. On the 31st we began our conversation about closing out the year. I shared how sterile, boring, and routine my 2025 felt. How my focus was tending to my body and how I missed the magic of Spirit’s Lightness animating me. It was difficult for me to think bigger for a new year. I went to sleep at 10:30 pm.

We attended a party on the 1st at her friend’s home in Los Angeles. The house had a hippy vibe to it; a craftsman with old creaking boards inside. The interior felt as though someone could have just finished making homemade granola. I felt as though I were in a Seattle friend’s home in the Wallingford district. I loved the mix of the past with the now moment. The guests were creatives and spiritually alive. Hours of conversation reminded me of the dynamic nature of Spirit and the beauty that surrounds me. I felt a bit refreshed.

January 2nd we continued the conversation about 2026. We visited a woman in Topanga Canyon who mixes essential oils and essences into a spray bottle unique for the person sitting in front of her…me. Three hours of story telling and mixing potions later I left with a blue spray bottle and a crystal. She told me where I was on my journey was the hard part. The monotony. The part where one foot goes in front of the other after fatigue set in. Spiritual weariness is evident and there is a desire to give up. Yet, she said, all myths remind us that the one who crosses the finish line isn’t the strongest, but the one with the most Faith.

She diagnosed me with spiritual dehydration. She was right, my Soul craved Living Waters. I needed to see, name, and embrace where I’m at. She did it for me. My intention became clear when I left…it was to cultivate the magic of Spirit which is ever Present, and to rehydrate through spiritual community. Reading spiritual writings and praying with my friend was a good start.

January 3rd I woke up to news that the US is running Venezuela. Stunned, scared, angry, and feeling further from my Center I prayed. I prayed my Holy Mother Loving self out. The full moon was on the 3rd so Rhonda and I chose it to do our burning ceremony. In the pouring rain on her back porch with a burning bowl in front of us, we put fire upon written page after written page representing our life in 2025. We symbolically gave the energy back to the Source from where all life comes. Then we sat cross legged on the living room rug to write our prayers, intentions, and invitations for 2026. Just like a God box, we placed them in a beautiful glass candle holder and prayed over them. We committed to each other that once our prayers are answered we will move them from the chalice into a fancy box. A tangible reminder of the process of asking and receiving.

Yesterday we attended Agape Spiritual Center; which I refer to as the Mother Ship. It felt good to be home in the Presence of other spiritual leaders singing, hugging, clapping, with a conversation of Truth. I was reminded that God is fully present EVERYWHERE even in ICE Facilities. I was able to release some of the collective horror I have been holding onto in 2025 and trust the Presence of God in the details. More hydration.

I now am poised to embrace the new year. Coming back into My Whole Self little by little, thought by thought, gratitude by gratitude. You are I needed on this planet this time in history. We are One Presence with many expressions and we remind ourselves with each prayer we do for each other, and each giggle that slips through our lips. I am grateful for you. I appreciate you. I see you at the God Being you are. And I wish for you a 2026 that keeps you hydrated in Life’s Good.

Fear less,

hope more;

Whine less,

breathe more;

Talk less,

Say more;

Hate less,

love more;

And all good things are yours. Anonymous
