Knocked Out of a State of Bliss

Three weeks of bliss. Uninterrupted, pure bliss gone in one judgment. One thought that I knew how someone ought to live their life better than they are doing it … Ouch. And, I was kicked out of paradise. Yep, twenty one long and glorious days of Love is All there Is. Conditions don’t define me. Spirit rocks this house. Life is a beach on a sunny day with dear friends and a kickin’ sunset. Then driving down the road, letting my mind take a detour into the thought ghetto and I was snagged. I never spoke the thought. I didn’t take action on the thought. I didn’t gossip about this opinion of mine. I merely entertained it and I went from Heaven to outside its doors knocking loudly. There I was, driving down the street, one moment Here and the next moment there. It was that quick. I returned home and entered my meditation practice. Open heart. Breathe deep. Remember who I Am. Restored. Back to...

Noah Built the Ark Before it Rained

Sitting at a traffic light, I couldn’t help but read the bumper stickers on a truck in front of me. One stuck out; “Noah built the ark before it rained.” Hours later I am still pondering the depth of this meaning spiritually. In the story of Noah and the Ark, God came to Noah when he was 500 years old to warn him that men he created were wicked and God was going to start over by wiping out humanity. He was making an exception for Noah, as Noah proved to be a good, faithful guy. But I will establish my covenant with you; and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. Genesis 6:18-20 When Noah was 600 years old, the skies opened and it rained and poured for forty days and...

Awake to The Mystery

My daughter and grand babies came to visit me in December. The last day of their visit my two and half year old grand daughter fell off of my two story balcony to hit the rocky ground below to land on her head. Her father and I ran down the stairs within seconds to literally find her standing up and talking. The EMTs, her doctor, my doctor, and some friends all said she was caught by two angels. (I will write a blog on this later, I have been waiting to get beyond the “awe” to articulate). This experience changed me. It changed me because I, or any of the medical experts, could not in any rational way explain what had taken place. There wasn’t a tree that caught her fall, a gust of wind or a trampoline below. She should have been permanently damaged, possibly dead, and she was standing. My effort wasn’t necessary in her well-being. Her standing didn’t require my prayers or any human action. Mystery and...

Is This REALLY Urgent?

“We have to talk NOW.” “Can you call me this afternoon, this can’t wait?” “We need a decision right away.” “You’ll miss this window of opportunity if you don’t act now.” “I can’t go any further without your input.” I lay in bed with pneumonia as the phone rings and each caller at the end of the phone has what they consider to be an urgent situation that then is to become my urgency. As my energetic capacity is slight, my ability to assess the true emergent is keen. Not one of the panicked “must do, must have or must act now” was REALLY urgent. I watched the callers acting from this crescendoed peak energy of the now or never. Finding this curious, I have been observing and inquiring into this energy pattern for several months. This is what I’ve come to know: We are trained into this idea of a short window in most part by artificial deadlines imposed by corporate marketing strategies. The idea of urgent is...

Great Egret on Scottsdale Road

Scottsdale Road is a main arterial running from Tempe with the name Rural Road through Scottsdale and Paradise Valley ending in Cave Creek as Tom Darlington Drive — driving from one end to the other can take several hours. Yesterday I drove north; boutique speciality shops to my right such as Sprinkles; the Baskin and Robbins of cupcakes. To my left is a colossal shopping center with a median between my car and it. Standing perched on the median was an egret. Long skinny legs, elegant and poised in the midst of what could be almost called a freeway. I slowed my car down and the two of us locked eyes as I continued to chant a series of “wow” as I drove by. The Lenten Season began February 18th. This is a season of preparation for a new consciousness; a movement of going from focusing upon that which is temporary and moving toward living from The Eternal. For me it is also a time of stepping into the “What appears to be...

Happy New Year!!! With FREE Meditation on Newness

New is a lot more than a marketing gimmick. New is evidence of a transformation. The Bible speaks of being made new as a bi-product of opening and connecting to the Eternal Go(o)d that is always nearer than our breath. Scripture also speaks to the inability to return to the old once one has been transformed. Remember the parable of the wine skin? The new wine won’t fit into an old wineskin? What does this mean to you in your life? And what does it mean to you when John in his Revelation (chapter 21) has revealed to him “I make all things NEW?” You and I are stepping into the new year of 2015. It is a recognized time in our culture where we stop, evaluate, clean up, set some goals and begin again. It is our collective permission to publically claim who we plan to become; what we desire to develop within us. And, we develop through consciously changing our habits and actions in the world. These next thirty...
