Excerpt from The Voice Celestial

This poem segment is worth reading out loud and then contemplating pieces of it for several minutes.  If it resonates with you, read this for one week to see what transpires for you.  I believe it is High Truth with blessed wisdom in it.  Love you … In every drop, the sea: in every cell, The Universe: in every soul, the life of God; and each contains full power of all. Life does not come in parts but wholes. There is No separation, no near nor farther out; No deeper down nor higher up, no void, No yonder; and no hopes that cannot be Fulfilled. The Power-of-All obtains in all, And Everywhere is here, and here is There. Draw thou on It if though wouldst truly be Complete nor suffer thirst again. Each soul Is drawn from circuits of the universe Where life and action have their center and Where every point is joined with every point And each event unites with each event In sequence after...

Three Arizona Writers Speak; I Listen

Yesterday I went to the heart of downtown, for my first time since moving to Phoenix.  Invited to hear three women speak as part of Arizona’s Centennial Celebration, I donned my tennis shoes and walking clothes and headed toward town.  Driving and parking became an emergent issue as I reached Jefferson and First Avenue.  A bike race was underway with speeding cyclists swooshing through the streets forcing me to park seventeen blocks from my destination.  Grateful for my choice in clothing and shoes, I began my walk toward the big event arriving fifteen minutes late. Martha Beck, known as “Oprah’s coach” had already begun her story telling.  I arrived to hear her recount dreams she had of Africa when she was pregnant with her son, Adam.  “Remember your dreams, if only a little part of them,” she encourages us.  Dreams led her to finding her Soul, finding her work, and finding herself.  Hundreds of Arizonans sat on the edge of their seats. She spoke of times when she felt...

Sophy Burnham on Connecting with Our Intuitive Selves

The October 3rd post “Where has the Divine shown Itself to You Today?” was inspired by my phone conversation with author and mystic Sophy Burnham.  The two of us engaged in an hour-long conversation about the spiritual journey and intuition.  I wanted to know how intuition hooked up with emotions and how an I could cultivate a stronger intuitive knowing. “Intuition” Sophy says, “is really developed through empathy.”  “Empathy, however, is developed through knowing your own emotional self so you can see the emotional expressions in others.”  The right side of the brain, which hosts creativity, does not utilize language like the left side of the brain does.  Information comes through the right side through feelings and pictures.  Our left brain isn’t developed until we are five years old when reason and rationalization become developed.  In our culture, we tend to, then, value the left side of the brain and close down the access to our right side.  Both sides are necessary, and equally valuable.  When an individual is...

Waimea Wisdom

Alooooooooha. I am in Kauai celebrating a significant milestone birthday. My desire for myself? To see, know, recognize, give, and receive love in all of its magnificent forms. It has become a practice for me. I can sit in any situation and say “I spy with my own little eye, love ….” The Course in Miracles says everything is love or a cry for love. If this is indeed true, then I ought to see/experience if I give it attention. Kauai is an Hawaiian island where I have visited: as a child to play with my family, as a young adult to heal from heartbreak, with my daughter to bond and learn, to write my first book captive on a balcony overlooking the roaring Pacific, to explore deepening relationships with others, and now to celebrate who I’ve been and who I’m becoming in the next phase of unfolding. Yesterday I stood atop Waimea Canyon, the mini-Grand Canyon, reading this passage from mystic-teacher Joel Goldsmith: “Flow, God; flow! Flow into...

Where Has the Divine Shown Itself To You Today?

Photo of Sophy Burnham from her website sophyburnhamdotcom In the midst of writing a chapter on the benefits of being fluent in the language of emotions, I took a short break to contemplate.  On this day, contemplation meant cleaning out my e-mail box.  I discovered a message from Science of Mind Publications with their new online magazine complete with audio links. I entered. Curious with an interview on intuition, I placed my mouse over the link and began listening to Sophy Burnham, author and mystic speak on the topic.  I was pulled in when she said emotions are the gateway to intuition, or something to that effect.  I knew this was true, intuitively, however I didn’t know why and I wanted to know “the why”.  I found her contact information on the web and e-mailed her.  “Could we speak so I could have a greater understanding as to developing intuition through connection with the emotional body?”  Graciously, her answer was yes. I purchased and studied her book The Art of...

Outwitting The Devil

I have been known to gobble, not savor books.  This one was no exception. You see, Napoleon Hill’s work was influential with me in my 20s and 30s as I was learning my way around the work world and becoming awake to the power of my consciousness.  His book Think and Grow Rich served me well for two decades.  In it I learned the power of a Master Mind group, creating and implementing a plan and keeping good counsel with myself.  I became who I am now partly due to the influence of this one small book.  Hill’s book was written in 1938 just following Think and Grow Rich but was kept in a vault until this year and Hill’s family and advisors had passed away.  Sharon Letcher was asked to bring this work into the world and is listed as co-author. So, my interest was peaked when I saw my friend Mary had “liked” this book on Facebook.  I ordered it and when it arrived I sat and...
